Michael J Lonsdale once again were proud sponsors of Jon Hill and Paul Wright at The British Motorcycle Racing Club meeting, held last weekend at Snetterton. Here is how the boys got on.

Jon Hill – L&W Rookie 1000 Championship.
Jon managed consistent results throughout the weekend racing in the L&W Rookie 1000 championship. In qualification, he landed on the second row in 6th place. Jon managed to hold this position for the first race, finishing in 6th. Trouble struck for the second race though as Jon missed the final call to the lineup for the grid, meaning he gave up his 6th place start, moving to the back of the grid. However, some classy racing resulted in another solid 6th place finish. This consistency continued, with Jon remarkably finishing 6th for the next two races on Sunday. A podium finish was practically in the bag during race 4 until a costly mistake set him back 2 places. It was hugely positive to see Jon keeping up with the front runners nonetheless.

Paul Wright – L&W Rookie 600 Championship.
Paul, representing MJL in the L&W Rookie 600 championship, qualified bang in the middle of the pack in 11th place. In race 1 an epic battle between 3 other riders left Paul in 14th, but he managed to set a personal best lap time for the circuit. In race 2 misfortune struck. After another 14th place finish Paul checked a grinding noise from his discs. He discovered that he had no pads left and the pistons had seized up. Work throughout the evening was required but the bike was more ready than ever for Sundays racing. Race 3 was sensational for Paul, finishing in 9th place and breaking his personal best time by 2 seconds! The final race of the weekend was set for a spectacular finish, having battled with 5 riders throughout. However, a last corner gearbox issue left Paul with only 3rd gear, leaving him limping home for 11th.
Overall we are immensely proud of the boys’ efforts over the weekend. We take great pride in supporting these dedicated workers of MJL and look forward to more racing in the future!
