This year the Michael Lonsdale Group once again sponsored ISG‘s annual fundraising event. However, the pandemic meant a virtual twist was taken to ensure the event proceeded as the 2020 Move for Charity.
How the Move for Charity formed
With mental health having an even bigger impact on our lives during the pandemic, ISG was committed to ensuring fundraising for Mental Health UK continued. So, for 2020 ISG decided to rebrand the Cycle for Charity event and create the worldwide virtual challenge – Move for Charity.
So, from Monday 12 October to Friday 16 October Michael Lonsdale Group, alongside ISG, their global clients and other supply chain members embarked on a five-day challenge to walk, run, swim & cycle their way, accumulatively aiming to travel the furthest distance possible.
Fundraising results
Over the five days, participants travelled more than 20,000 miles – equivalent to a full trip around the world. More importantly, the dedication of everyone participating helped raise an impressive £96,000 for Mental Health UK.
Twelve of our own Michael Lonsdale Group staff took part in the week of activities, overall accumulating over 655 miles – proving to be in the top 10 for distance covered and funds raised in the UK. We also set ourselves a target to raise a pound for every mile we covered. The kindness of our colleagues and their family’s & friends meant we exceeded our target, accumulating £670 together.
Notable contributions from our team:

Group Director, Panny Hadjioannou had an incredibly busy week; running a marathon to and from work, cycling well over 100 miles and even covering a 2.4 mile swim.

Environmental and Sustainability Manager, Joanna Constandis, braved the elements to cycle her way across London.

Project Manager, Martin Taylor, smashed a half-ironman; swimming 1.2 miles, followed by a 62.4 mile cycle and wrapping up his week with a 13.2 mile run.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this years successful fundraising event. Everybody pushed themselves over the week and as a team we achieved a great result alongside ISG and everyone else who participated.
